That's about it Jamesy lol. There's a guy got a Passat around here with one on. It sounds silly on that car. Bit like having a boot spoiler on a reliant robin. All just my opinion of course lol.

shame as i've had a fiesta RS turbo, r5 GT turbo, and last summer an impreza wrx turbo - all had loud dump valves that gave me a semi lob on every time i heard it. however on the diesel engine it'd prob be a bit sh!t and the fact you get ZERO gains for nearly 300 notes is a pi$$er!!!

The diesel will never produce the sort of boost to make a real wooshing noise, a friend fitted one to his Astra 1.9 CDTi and the diesel engine pretty much drowned out any dump valve noise!!

I hada Zafira GSi running circa 280bhp, I tried a dump valve, then took it off through embarrassment. In my opinion they are the worst invention ever. Real boy racer stuff.

I prefer the stealth approach. Sounding quiet when running then all hell breaks loose when you boot it!! This is again the route I have taken with my A3.

I'd have to agree with MATT, dump valves always make me cringe.

In my opinion also, a complete waste of time. A diesel does not have a throttle body so, when you release the accelerator pedal, there is no build up of pressure to dump.

    Hi Maverick ,

1st this is for my Nieghbour not me...he has an Astra SRi Turbo Diesel and as I'm a car nut asked if I'd help (more like do the hole thing) with the fitting of a Dump Valve he's bought.
Are there any instructions/Pictures??? I had a quick butchers at his engine, removed the top plastic cover, located the turbo and intercooler pipes but could I find the original Recirc Valve? Nope!!

Any help would be great, maybe if you could ask your mate??

I have told him its a waste of time and money and to buy a CHIP instead but he's already got it and like a tipicle youngster wants the whooost.

    Thanks

    Rossy

    My self...2004 MG ZT 260 SE 4.6 V8 Mustang power..ent no replacement for displacement and 1993 911 3.3 Turbo...no realy!

    :~)
