Default Odd problem with new hands free - Help!

Hi guys, yesterday I fitted a new hands free kit to the car, install went fine and all wired correctly, however I've noticed a strange issue where if something is plugged into the cigarette lighter when I turn the ignition off, the hands free turns off as it should but the car speakers remain powered and the screen displays "External In". This stays on even if I lock the car or remove the charger from the cigarette lighter.

The red ignition wire from the hands free kit is connected to the black wire in the cigarette lighter, and there's no power going to the cigarette lighter when the ignition is off!

The only way to stop this from happening is to remove the charger from the cigarette lighter before I turn off the ignition.

Does anyone know what would cause this, or how I might fix it? It's a pain in the arse having to unplug everytime I switch the engine off!

I'm guessing that there is something in the charger which is backfeeding a voltage to the line when the ignition is switched off.

Does it still do it if you plug the charger into the rear seat charge point ?

What make hands free kit is it ? I know some of the parrot kits will stay live for a couple of minutes.
Can you not use the rear 12v socket for your charger ?

Went out to the car to test it, and wouldn't you believe it, it's not doing it anymore! I did a number of journeys today and it kept happening, so now I really don't know what's going on lol.

I'll see what happens tomorrow when I'm driving to work!

It's an io Play 2. I left it for a few mins after locking the car but the screen didn't go off!

It's not really practical to use the rear socket because I have a windscreen phone holder, the wires would be all over the place!

Mine stays on and does a proper "shutdown" when the ignition is switched off. I have a feeling this is a "feature" rather than an error because it will also stay connected to a call and ask if you want to transfer the call back to the phone when you switch off the ignition. Assuming it is a Parrot kit that is

Edit, I see it isn't a Parrot LOL, but it may be something most phone kits do

It only does it if my phone charger is plugged in when the ignition is turned off (regardless of whether the phone is plugged into it or not) though. The hands free screen & lights also go off as soon as ignition is off. It's very odd!

Was there ever found a solution to this?
I've installed a Bury CC9068 kit. It has been working good, but sometimes it wont "disconnect" when a call is finished, and the radio is just stuck on "External in". I can't even turn the radio of, and it persist even when I remove the key and lock the car. Usually a call and an "end call", can make it go away, but even then there's sometimes a small beep and it's back to "External in". It G*D* irritating!
For charging I'm using the built in plug from the Bury kit.
