    Vehicle : Jaguar XF 3.0D V6

    Trim : Black

    Engine : 3.0D V6

    Year : 0000

    Default Astra Diesel.

I have been to Germany with work, got back to Brummy airport last night. The hire car for me to get home was an Astra CDTi.

What engine is it? The Ti was coloured red and the CD was silver??

It went like stink. OMG - VERY VERY impressed.

6 speeds of pure driving. I liked it so much that I told the wife she should sell her Fiat Stilo and buy one of those. She could keep the Vec (which she really likes) and I will have the Astra.

Sorry it's not Vec related, but it was great to drive. Torque like you wouldn't believe, handling tight, comfy.

Did a speed test on my private test circuit also, top speed was 135. then I had to slow down as the exit was approaching very quickly.

    Any others got any thoughts??

The engine will be the Cdti 1.9 150bhp, mate. I had a bit of a race with a mate of mine who owns one.To say we both have the same engines he was quick!

If it was a 1.9, wouldn't it have had '1.9' on the back before the CDTi?

I don't know, and it was dark. If it is still outside my house when I get back I'll have a look.

It'll be the 1.9 if its a 6-speed. I have the 1.7 CDTi (which also has the Ti in red) but only a 5 speed box.

Bu not for long, as my Vec will be arriving any time now. Then I get the firebreathing engine you had....

Wonder if my Vec will do the 100k miles my Astra has on it as quickly (Astra delivered 12th Feb 2005)

    1.9 150!

denoted by the red Ti. The 1.7 also have a Red Ti for the 100bhp version but are a 5 speed I think
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
