Car Breakdown

Guess what happened today??? The car went into 'limp-home' mode. Travelling along the motorway, at 70mph, then the dreaded car with a spanner going through it popped up on the dash and the car slowly decelerated all the way down to 45mph, this was enough but to limp it back to the dealers. So now to the point...... Is diesel included in this dodgy fuel debate? As far as i know it is only petrol. I dont want the dealer coming back to me and trying to hit me with a big bill as the car is under warranty.

as far as i know it is just petrol, but did this happen just after you filled up with diesel?

P.S. - i don't think you are affected by the contaminated petrol in any case, bit far away.

Who knows but, Could diesel be affected and could it have made its way over to Northern ireland?
67 miles into a new tank of diesel!!!!!! sound a bit suss

i think you'll be okay, don't panic just yet....see what the dealers say.

i've heard that the problems with the car come about pretty much immediately when the tank has been filled

just found out what is wrong with the veccy!!!!
BLOWN TURBO!!!!
8000 miles from the end of the warranty too.
Very surprised but, the car has 52000 miles on it. Wouldn't expect the turbo to go just yet!! (if im wrong please correct me)
The dealers tried to play it cool by saying it wouldn't be covered under the warranty but they have deceided to cover it anyway, AYE DEAD ON!!!

it's a bit unusual for the turbo to go at that mileage, but if they're doing it for free..

i thought they were gonna put up a fight, especially with the car being so close to being out of warranty, not this time but!!!
it wouldn't have taken them too either haha.

They fought like kids not to replace the turbo on mine for near on 18 months.

It's done now though and still seems to be behaving itself.

Is it a 2.2Dti?
My turbo went at 53k miles!
