Strange smell when cold 1.9 cdti

Every morning after 5mins of starting i drive up hill towards a carriageway and the smell i have coming into the cabin smells like the CAT or fumes. My car is remapped and i dont have this problem when the temperature gauge moves. Also it done this before the remap and i been told it might be the swirl pot in the inlet manifold?

more likely the EGR system..thats what went on ours and VX replaced it , as well as a shed load of other parts associate with it..

Cold starting, does it smell like charcoal?

it is not the smell of charcoal

if it's engine fumes, get it checked out now.. they do know about this.

If it was engine fumes would you not smell this most of the time?

In the past i've been speaking to a machanic I know from my local dealer, he has said they are replacing inlet manifolds and EGR valves.

I have a 2006 Vectra Design. 1.9CDTI. I have had fumes coming into the cabin from the air vents since receiving the car from new back in September 2006.
I took the car to Evans Halshaw for repair, they had it 9 weeks and stripped the engine, replaced the EGR valve and pipe, turbo charger and pollen filter. The smell almost disappeared but has since returned. It likes pulling up at the traffic lights with the car in front seriously burning oil and this getting pulled through your air intake and into your cabin. Air conditioning is fine though.
I now get a bad whiff of burning oil/tar smell when driving over 50mphthen pulling up sharply at lights etc, this lasts for about a minute but fills the cabin with the odour. I love my Vauxhall but it appears to be poisoning me. Before I took the car to Evans Halshaw I sat a gas analyser on the dashboard and with the engine ticking over it read 20 ppm of carbon monoxide. This cant be good for your health?
Does anyone else have the same problem?
