    Question JDL Spoiler from eBay

    Hi

I've just bought a rear boot spoiler for my 2004 2.2DTI SXI from a Polish based company, JDL, on eBay.
    Details of spoiler here:
    http://www.jdltuning.com/?mode=goods&tid=280#

Took it to bodyshop this week for spraying and fitting. Lots of problems. Quality of finish very poor and only one fixing point on each side resulting in very unsecure fit.
Has anyone else experienced same problems with this spoiler or have I just got a bad 'un?
Any recommendations for alternative, quality spoilers would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

they should have bonded it on as well...and the quality of painting is only as good as the bodyshop..Soulman and Caterman have had their products and they have both been fine..

I had one on my old vec and it was perfect. A lot depends on where you have it sprayed/fitted too m8. Mine was done at a local spray shop and although not cheap, he did a damn good job. He could not bake it as it is GRP and can expode in the oven so it was air dried. There are numerous places to get spoilers from, try LMF, Irmscher Bits, or PM Andyvec

iv one on mine, i think the finish on mine is impressive & i only paid £60 2 have it sprayed, i fitted it myself with the two mounting points & sikaflex & i think it would take some force 2 remove it even though i dont work in a bodyshop, id ask the cowboys for a refund as its obviously them trying to get out of it, how much did u pay 2 have it sprayed/fitted, click the link below 2 see

i bought the full kit, yes there was alot of prep for painting, its up to the bodyshop to give you a really good finish, the spoiler should have been bonded along with the 2bolts for securing! if there's a bad finish its the prep and paint work to blame

Many thanks for all the responses - much appreciated.

I paid £120 for prep, painting & fixing(!)- sounds like I've paid OTT and for a poor job at that.

Still not sure there isn't a problem with the spoiler as well as it does not sit evenly on the boot (gaps on one edge whilst flush on other), something that I can't see the bonding agent sorting.

JDL have agreed to send a replacement so I'll see if that's an improvement.

    .
maybe one of the holes was drilled on the p*ss so one of the edges is catching,
also did they bake it 2 dry the paint as mine had 2 b left out over night as bakeing may have warped it i was told, id fit the new one on yr own just check the holes they have drilled & buy some quality sealant
