Default which combined sat nav / speed camera system?

Since it bacame illegal to use my old snooper radar detector today, I wondered which system users think is the best in their opinion! (obviously the users of said systems know the good points and bad of each one)

I read the article in Auto express (feb 2007) which said road angel navigator 7000) was the best followed closely by the snooper syrius which according to the article has superceeded the snooper indagio.
not sure if the syrius is too wide given its a widescreen jobbie!
it further stated that the snooper didnt pick up some of the cameras which it worrying - thought the enigma database they use was the best going!?

anyone help and give advice on this one? -
    cheers Ste

I would go with tomtom every time

Yes you have to subscribe to their camera database, but as well as this the new *10 series gives you a very good navigational aid as well as a bluetooth handsfree for your mobile.....

As the laws changed today for this as well it is worth a mention.

I would second that, TomTom are always rated as the best, and the speed camera d/b is great, but you have to keep it up to date.

If you pair your bluetooth phone with your tomtom, you can opt for the unit to download the database periodically using GPRS data download!!

I have a tomtom One Europe version 2. I have the camera database on it and I'm very impressed. I'd go tomtom you can get my version for about £219.00.

Important Laser info.- The proposed changes in legislation with regards to the banning of speed camera detectors will not affect Syrius, Indago, Sapphire & Evolution GPS units.
Below is an extract from the dft website.

“The Government will not be prohibiting those devices that rely on Global Positioning System (GPS) technology to warn drivers of published camera sites or posted speed limits, as these compliment the Government's policy to ensure that camera sites are visible and conspicuous to drivers, and so help deter excessive and inappropriate speeds on the roads.”

In our opinion, laser detection is 99% useless anyway as by the time you've been 'targeted' it is too late to do anything about it. Having advanced warning of known locations is a much better option enabling drivers to drive safe and hassle free.

I use a Road Angel navigator 6000,the 7000 came the week after I purchased. It is in every day during the course of my work.[Taxi driver]camera warning gives all the different types of camera and there location and very accurate ,in addition it now gives mobile camera sites as well.
the Gps system I must admit I do not always agree the route but nine times out of ten you have a good idea where you are going the gps gives that little extra at the end of the journey .

    Thats my pennys worth

    Ps
I also have a garmin street pilot the routing on that is 100 %
you can now get Garmin units with speed camera warnings worth a look I say.
