It was a GMP Interceptor and found service around Streetford.
It came with a full police service history.
As expected the overall condition was poor. Numerous dents, holes and marks.
In terms of specification:
SRI front and rear bumpers
SRI Interior
Elite 17" Wheels and drop links
No IDS and no TC Button
Dual zone climate
No rear electric windows
No curtain airbags
VXR Blue front brakes with vented standard rears
Vectra 2.8 V6 Turbo engine with manual gearbox
Standard anti-roll bars (Not VXR)
The wiring in the roof lining was chopped and lining cut and lots of chopped wiring along the near side of the car. All goodies were removed with the exception of a headlamp interface box which may operate the wigwags.
I was lucky enough to find someone breaking another one to correct some of the issues.
I swapped the passenger door as this had a large ripple and the two rear door windows as they had scratches.

Here is what the dash looks like now. IMG_1254.jpg
Here is an idea of what the interior would have looked like when in service. When I received it, they was just lotes of missing buttons and holes.
I decided to install a CID and CD70 with UHP bluetooth. I found that the front speaker wiring was chopped for other uses so used a donor loom to repair the wiring.
I replaced all the interior plastics from an unmarked car which had not been butchered.

I replaced the front bumper and side skirts for the VXR item. I replaced the door window trims with gloss black window trims as per the VXR Model. I also fitted 19" vectra VXR wheels. Before I did this, most wishbones, bushes and droplinks were replaced. I also replaced the rear calipers. I have a J&R rear caliper which will not adjust correctly. I have sourced a brand new caliper thanks to a bankrupt Saab dealer.
The front brakes received new pads thanks to a bargain of £5 off ebay and also fitted HEL brakelines to sharpen up the brakes.

The engine bay has had the VXR treatment. It was missing the battery cover and an ecotec cover. Now its covered by a VXR cover. I also replaced the bonnet sound proofing

Yes I know what you mean but fancied doing something a little unconventional. I have been quite lucky with parts so it hasn't cost as much as it could have done. Yes the prices have really dropped in the last 12 months for genuine VXR's, but again like to own something slightly different to the rest.

Here is a more recent picture. I have TPMS which the loom came from Andy.L and fitted by Plasma. I also have parking sensors installed but fully functional yet.
