That's handy to know about the window switches, my driver's switch is a tad temperamental, got to properly press sometimes to get it to work, did have to strip the cim to clean the PCB contacts for the stalks as they were proper caked, but it's been working faultless since

it is just one of those things... although sometimes i hate how GM has done stuff the fact they did the switches and most of the controls like that means they can be easily soted without costing extra money on a whole load of other brands this would mean buying new window modules or completely new switches or stalks... BMW isn't the only one, on all the VAG concern and Mercedes cars it means the same.

All my bits Euro Car Parts turned up earlier in the week and as I had a spare half hour this afternoon I thought I might as well get it all fitted.

First, brand spanking new K&N panel filter replaced an incredibly dirty paper filter, can't see it not making a difference if only for the fact it's clean!

Next, new Mann active carbon cabin filter, again, the filter removed looked pretty worse for wear and looking at it could quite easily be the original filter that came with the car!

Last, new NGK Iridium plugs replaced the Bosch plugs that came out. Not sure how long those plugs had been in, top half of each looked pretty worse for wear however the other end of each looked a nice tan colour with no visible fouling of the plugs so I'm pretty happy that the engine is running well.

Will drop the oil again when I do the wife's Meriva just to be sure after having changed the oil cooler recently.

Also had some replacement bolts turn up for the rear calliper carriers as it looks like a gorilla with the wrong type of socket has rounded the current bolts off and although I may be able to get them off, I doubt they'll go back on to any meaningful torque. I'm pretty sure you're supposed to replace them anyway so if I get chance this weekend I'll get the rear discs and pads changed.

Picked up a drivers side auto dim mirror with a broken outer cover so today stripped it and put all the wiring and motor in to a spare mirror so now have a complete mirror ready to fit.

About 2 months ago I managed to replace just the black surround to mine. And it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, using my heat gun. About half hour work.
