Hello darkness my old friend. Am i cursed or the car is cursed? Oil leak from rear main seal. I was there just to have a look at the cat flange as it was buffering due to a exhaust leak, so i have replaced the gasket (it was free anyway so i didn't bother with trying to replace it at home), replaced all of the exhaust bushing and one of the 3 that i replaced earlier was already torn apart, "bosal" my ass. 2 out of 3 original cat bolts broke so again, cut them out, drill, hammer, rinse and repeat. While the car was up on the lift, guess what? A ton of oil but from nowhere else except the rear main seal, AGAIN. It's not about the money, it's about the wasted time that is annoying me because i can't enjoy the car properly now for a full month because there is a oil leak and my brain is going haywire. Burn it up? I can't. I love the car too much to even think about selling it.

today i had the engine bay steamcleaned and underneath cleaned but as he is a decent bloke he did the whole car for me.i then dried it off and took home and polished it.
i also hoovered the car and fitted my recently bought sill covers and took the chav pedal covers off and fitted my insignia pedal covers.
tomorrow i have a replacement brake vacuum pump to fit, a new downpipe and remove the spacers on the rear wheels.
then sunday fit my new dab stereo and remove the gangster tints.
busy weekend all round really

Had a four wheel alignment check. Made sense given the new rear dampers, new tyres, etc

Started buying service items for tomorrow when car goes in for MoT (still need to buy antifreeze, brake fluid and power steering fluid). Also fitted brand new Vauxhall locking wheel nuts.

The two factors that most affect the alignment and positioning of the rear tyres are tyre pressure and the condition of the bushes in the upper control arms. A change of shocks would only have minimal affect on the alignment.

And tracking arm bushes, and lower arm bushes.
