What did you do to your Vectra/Signum today?

We had one good day in Scotland Lol, so I decided I will spend a few hours detailing the car. It cleaned up great but the boot decided it would not open after. Open and close the car a couple of times, nothing. Raging!! I crawled through the back seat and popped the emergency switch. I got the multi meter tested fuses, wiring and voltage all good. It must be the Handle or the solenoid or both. Quick Google search for parts. I was right Happy days.

anything made by Bosh is anything but rare... can be ordered directly from the manufacturer instead of paying the extortionate markup price from the dealer... you've got the part number on the old one, go into the bosh catalogue online and tada they got them and might I add cheaper than what you paid for this one. I hope for your sake they used some lube before they bend you over and screamed: "We like it RAW!"

I replaced the microswitches on the circuitboard of the keyfob... the reason i did it was because i noticed it was getting harder to get the car to unlock both the doors and the boot.. so went onto ebay bought a repair set of the newer model microswitches and de-soldered the old ones off, than soldered the new ones on... Once i was done i had to reregister the keyfob...no biggy takes a few moments and reminded me immediately that i need to lube the doorlocks on both the boot and the drivers door. so did that too...

End result keyfob feels like new.

Last week the last shocks arrived after 5 odd months! New MAF fitted, not a black and white difference like it was when i tried the used one but time will tell if the mpg goes up maybe? You can't tell in the picture but it does look like brand new compared to the other one as its not been in a hot engine bay for years i think. GM don't sell the Torx bolts that holds the top mount in place, so found some other M8 x 22 ones to use.
