Had some pad spring sleeves made up out of stainless for the AP calipers so corrosion can never be an issue with them. Will fit ASAP it easy enough to do.

I haven't done anything today because I've got a CIM problem that can not be solved with software until I get a new one....however, since I was last here, I have got rid of the middle box exhaust and put in a straight through, I've changed all the interior lights including boot and glove box to blue, I thought I'd have a bit of fun and stuck some led light strips in the foot wells so I could have lights dancing to my music via my phone lol Its a bit of fun and little un likes them, oh I've taken out the front cigarette lighter socket and replaced it with a double usb socket and I've also changed the clear side repeaters to the smoked but legal thingy side repeaters I've also started work on my veccy b sri estate, that has been off the road for the better part of 2 years I should think, whilst I wait on trying to solve the CIM issue.

well i just went out and went to top up my power steering fluid, the designer that came up with the idea to put the bottle in that spot should be be-headed with a blunt axe.... just saying... there is more than enough for them to have put it on the firewall... something that on most cars takes 3 minutes is a bumper off, remove corner bracket from the subframe than take out the extra nuts that hold the cradle and the one bolt that holds it to the chassis job, what was he thinking? a simple execution with comes to mind.. but instead of a firing squad, using some semtex strapped to his chest and just me using a remote detonator... that is all
it is topped up now and the annoying squeal it gave in the morning is gone... ps it doesn't leak it was just below minimum (and i never refreshed or topped it up ever since i owned the car) i just didn't think about it until i noticed it started acting up and i went and looked for the bottle... it's also filled with the older green oil which i might replace the next time around as it is double the price of the GM DEXOS 2 and 3 ( and apparently can be used as long as the system is flushed completely)
Quick yesterdays evening work.

Float came off the expansion tank sender, giving an annoying low level warning. Pattern bottle £14 delivered and fitted this morning ! You gotta love how cheap Vectra bits are :-)
Oh, and the 'baby Vectra' ( wife's Astra H ) needed a new front flexi exhaust pipe - that was less than £30 delivered so again saved a few quid as local factors wanted £60 fitted.
It's what I didn't do after the way the last few days have gone.
New discs and pads all round, 5 of 8 carrier bolts had seized, both pad retaining clips completely stuck on rear calipers and 3 of 4 rear sliders seized.
Then find a brake pipe had burst, feeding n/s/r brake, so replaced whole line and rerouted along subframe instead of behind the fuel tank. Found 3 of 4 bleeding nipples seized when bleeding brakes.
Attempted to fix front wiper arm but it's completely seized on, so I can't get the scuttle panel off to get to the connector.
Clean, de-rust and grease up everything possible/accessable.
All in all what should've just been a day's work has turned into 3 full days on the ******* thing.
MOT tomorrow so hopefully all worth it as long as she pass's.
