    Vehicle : Signum

    Trim : Mohican

    Engine : Z20NET

    Year : 2006

Finally got time to diagnose the EML light coming on and power loss.

Car felt like it was coming on boost then hitting a brick wall - not the usual head shoved into headrest boost. Has done this a few times but then cleared itself, and no fault codes were ever logged or stored - current, pending or historic.

It did it again the other day and as I got home, plugged the OBD in whilst still running and EML on. No current codes? But one historic - P0134 - lambda sensor.

Checked fuse, cabling, plug and cleaned contacts. Same after another short drive. Had meter on lambda - 11ohms across heater, but absolute zip voltage from sensor, even on 200mV range.

New one ordered - Saab one but is identical to mine, and half the cost - also still a Bosch so happy days. Just hope it comes out easy, time to buy a proper 22mm sensor socket for it.

Only thing I'm not sure on is why VX originally listed four different ones with different designations - mine is a CH.

topped up the power-steering fluid, a few weeks ago i replaced it as it was filthy, than for the last week I've had this howling noise coming from the pump... and since on the pre-facelift there is no space to remove the cap, I had to lower the subframe again to get to it. Did that today and topped it up with millers powersteering stop leak.. it stopped the immediate howling but after running the car for a few minutes i noticed it came back... must be the system trying to bleed itself as the noise has reduced to almost nothing... will see over the next few days if it goes away... if it doesn't than i'm getting a replacement pump because after all this thing has been on the car for 18 years and it must have some worn bearings ( because there is no other reason for the oil to be that filthy and having little gritty bits in it)

Thank you very much @sri cliff, @Dog_Book and@ Northpole. For your knowledge and parts. The long drive was worth it. Nice seeing you guys. I fitted a set 314 calipers today . The difference in braking is night and day.
