    Default Legal?

Yeah is it binding.........hi guys you might have seen the picture of myself and my daughter with her £300 hairdo yeah I know

Well she booked it for tomorrow costing £300 + £35 to take out what's there (extensions and the like yeah) then they call back and say to take it out will be £50 per hour and it could take 3hours so we're up to £450 and the price has gone up to £350 which makes a total of £500 yeah now your talking

The initial costing, which is already rediculous, was given in writing i.e. £300 + £35 to remove which gives a total of £350...........what do you think.......is Angela within her rights to invoke the the initial £335 quote.............my understanding is when a "QUOTE" is given it is legally binding yeah?

if it was accepted by both parties, then you are in a contract AIUI. Might be worng, but I'm sure you would win if you took it all the way...

A verbal or written "Quote" is a guide to the final price, legally a "Quote" is not binding to either party that form the agreement unless both parties agree to the "Quoted Price" and sign a "Contract".

Sorry Brian but that's the "Legal View"

Scottish Law is different mate so you could be within your rights to show the origional "Quote" and pay that amount, I'm not sure as to the position regarding Scottish Law

I thought that an "ESTIMATE" was the one that was NOT binding but a "QUOTE" is legally binding

"Estimate" and "Quote" are one and the same, they both outline the "Job" in question and set down a price, usually it is adhered to but only a "Contract" is actually binding.

Well i found THIS INFO and according to this, a quote is fixed and CANNOT be changed, an estimate can
Print it off and take it with you Bryan but they have not got a leg to stand on if they did "quote" for the job. Good Luck.
