    confused Question about BSR Remap

Hi all, i have been researching the remap as i am interested in doing it, I bought my car with all the irmscher kit on it from a dealer so i don't know alot about the cars background. I haven't had it on a rolling road yet but the car seems to perform really well, I noticed in Duncans review of the Stage 1 he states it reaches 60 in 2nd gear my car does 62 at 6000 rpm in 2nd I am just wondering if this is normal or if i maybe got another wee bonus with my car, If my car has been chipped or something then obviously there is no point getting the stage 1. I would appreiciate any comments thank you

i don't think they could have knowingly sold you a more powerful car as it would affect insurance and tax.

how many owners did it have before you? if it was kitted out with all the irmscher stuff then it could've been a demo car for a dealer, which means they wouldn't have put a map or anything on it.

but if it was a private owner then there may be a chance...you never know.

I bought the car when it was just turning 3 yrs old and the previous owner had traded it in for something else, My car does pull well through all the gears, fast in high gears and in first and second brings on tc light alot with wheelspins

Doesn`t matter if it`s mapped or not, unless you change the gearing it will do the same speed at the same revs .. Different wheel sizes will affect this as well ...

Just as Tommy said, it's the gearing that dictates what speed you do at certain revs. It'll be the same speed for the same revs in the same gear whether it's standard or remapped - just that the remapped one will get you to those speeds quicker!

Right thanks guys so the only way to tell if anything has been done to the engine is a dyno then, or i suppose a rough way is speed times i.e 0-60.

if the previous owners details are on the logbook why not ring him and ask ? anyone with an irmy kit on must be enough of a car enthusiast not to mind a call from the next owner ??
