    Default Household Rubbish

    Got home the other day to find a new waste container on my door step.......... Said on the lid "food waste bin".
    I thought ok I can live with that.
    The food waste has been going in the normal waste here for years with plastics and cans in the black box and paper and cardboard in the green box what are kept outside.
    (I know the two get mixed together at some point anyway.)
    Now I open the food waste bin to find inside another smaller bin to be kept in the kitchen, plus two white sacks, two green like extra large shopping bags and more plastic sacks....
    Plus a list or what goes where and when!
    Not sure where I am supposed to keep all these things in the house?

    How many of you have this much recycling to do?
    And do you stick to it?

    We've a black bin for normal rubbish, a black box for something, a red bag for something else, a yellow bag for something, a blue bag for something, and a brown bin for garden rubbish. Each says on the outside of the bag or container what goes in, so no need to memorise. They all live in the front garden along the wall.

    3 wheelie bins,

    Black = household waste
    Green = recycling
    Brown = garden waste (this is optional which I pay for as it worked out cheaper than regular trips to dump 12 miles away, a 24 mile round trip!) apparently we are allowed to put certain food waste in this one but I have no idea what so it all goes in the black bin.

    When it gets that bad I'll start compacting the lot, burn it on the woodburner, and throw the metal that remains in the recycling

    3 wheelie bins here too,

    Black = household waste, (literally anything thats not to go in the green bin except garden waste)
    Green = recycling (inc plastics, paper, cardboard, - mostly food packaging (no polystyrene),
    Brown = garden waste, (optional) which I pay for and gets collected every 2 weeks with the green bin, inc grass, weeds/flowers (no mud) hedge trimmings and branches upto 4" diameter.
