    confused Z19DTH or Y19DTH

Someone said in a post a while ago that if you don't have 0.5 on the door plate then you don't have a particle filter. Well mine is registered as Euro IV emissions and a Z19DTH but it doesn't have 0.5 on the plate... Can it be a Z19DTH without a particle filter?

What does the filter look like?

If a particle filter is fitted the car will never emit any black smoke when the car is revved hard ... if the car does smoke then it doesn't have one.

'Most' Vectra hatchback/saloon Z/Y19DTH no matter what the year do not havea particulate filter, I pretty sure none have, but have put most as I am not 100% sure.

But I beleive all Vectra Estate and Signum 1.9's do have DPS.

Someone may be able to correct me here, but I am pretty sure this is the case.

My old Y19DTH SRi on an 04 reg didn't have one, neither has my 06 Z19DTH.

Euro 4 does not mean you will have DPF. Euro 4 reduced particulate matters to max 25 mg/km (Euro 3: 50) and on new engines there was not always the need to install a DPF to achieve this goal. It will be needed for Euro 5 (< 5 mg/km).
However when Opel introduced the 1.9CDTI engines you could order a DPF for an extra 500 euro but it was from the begin standard on the estates and Signum (according to the Benelux press text 23.2-2004). I think in Germany the DPF became standard on all Vec/Sig somewhere in 2005; in Benelux in 2006.
I don't know about the 0.5 on the door plate - it is not on mine - i only know that Euro 4 reduced CO-emissions tot 0.5 g/km from 2005 on.

Isn't that the CAT? Mine looks like that, with what I though was the CAT just behind that braided section.

The cat is smaller and without suspension parts at the back and no temperature sensor, but is true DPF is integrated with the cat in one (bigger) part.
