Default Siggy Fogs on my Veccy

I couldn't wait for a group buy so I went and ordered them on Thursday and they arrived today so I went and fitted them. I did the nearside one first and it took about 15 minutes and the offside one took about 1 minute, once i knewwhat I was doing. I did it without taking the bumper off. Start at the outside and get the lips out first then it's like peeling an orange.

Well please with the effect, I just need the bumper respraying now as I hit a very high kerb. I am alos toying with theidea of colour coding the whole grapite part of the insert, but not quite sure.

    Part numbers for fitting to a Facelift Vectra are 93187834 & 93187823. Cost is £21.30 + VAT(£3.73) = £25.03 each, List

    Errr ?????????????

OK, how did you fit these in 15 mins ??? I was told that the 'lugs' had to be heat sealed onto the bumper ???

I'm not critisising, just amazed that it can be done so easily.

Could you please explain further ??

The old unit comes off with some difficulty as it is lugged clipped in and I did break 2 lugs on the first one as I wasn't sure if the new one was identical and I dont need the old ones so wasn't too worried. Start on the outside first to get the clips away and it then needs to slide towards the outside about 2mm and the 3 thick lugs need easing out with a very small flat blade screwdriver (if the bumper is still on). Had I dropped the bumper off, I wouldn't have broken any lugs as you could lift the lip on the lug from behind. With the new surround it is fairly easy (on the second one) to push the new one in once all the lugs are lined up with a thwack of the palm to seat it in. The difficluty with the first one was that I started on the wrong end, the side towards the middle of the car.

I can't see any reason why it would have to be heat sealed on and if it was then it wouldn't come off that easy. Too late now, but I'll take some pics tomorrow of the old units as it is difficult to describe the lugging. Perhaps I should have taken longer and taken pics as I went along but as with all mods I was much too eager.

Oh, BTW, the dealer wanted £20 to fit them, so at that price I thought it must be easy to do, 20mins labour for them, 1/2 hour for me, but methinks the dealer probably would drop the bumper off.

the old ones probably can be removed without taking the bumper off
but more than likely to snap and bring the rest of the melted lug with it
thats attached to the bumper and fitting the new ones will be easy as you
can get to the holes easy to tidy the slots up so you can snug fit the
new surrounds in but there`s no way of re melting them into palce so bit
of a risk as cud work loose and fall off.

looks like he`s been lucky and done it without a problem and well
    done m8 gud job done.

Cool, if you don't have to take the bumper off I'll be ordering some on Monday, I chatted to spoons earlier & although it didn't sound too bad removing the bumper if I can get away with it I will.
