Default Just ordered myself some Eibach springs...

After much deliberation, communication with Eibach, shopping around, selling a nice set of Saab Azev alloys, I found myself with some money sitting in Paypal, and a burning desire to spend it. So I e-mailed LMF & asked if they'd accept Paypal - "Not a problem" so I've just spoken to them, and subsequently done the Paypal thing. £135 plus £10 delivery - can't argue with that. Should be here by the weekend, when...

I'll put them in a box with all the other things i haven't yet put on my Vectra

Seriously tho', does anyone have any advice / help / instructions on how to fit the springs? I have spring compressors, spanners, sockets, WD40, hammers, gaffa tape, band-aids, etc etc - you get the picture

    All help appreciated

Muffking did a How 2 on how to replace suspension. Have a look over in that section.

Just looked - that was only for rears, not fronts as well.

Don't think anyone has done one on fronts.

I'll see if a PDF might be able to wing it's way onto this thread.

it's not that diffucult..fronts..you just need to remove the strut, so raise and support the car..undo the antiroll bar links top joint..(17mm spanner and 18mm socket) and remove joint from strut,

remove brake hose clip and wiring support clip from the bracket on the front of the suspension strut, then remove the 2 18mm pinch bolts..

in the engine bay, now undo the 3 x torx bolts to release the strut and it will come off the car.. allowing you easy access to work on it.. it has to come off to get the top plate off..

Now the strut is off, fit the claps and take up the tension..then using a insert bit and a socket, ring spanner undo the top nut..remove this, the top plate, and the gaiter.. remove the spring and let the clamps off..

clamp new spring, and compress, rebuild the strut, and refit.. easy..

    Rears even easier....

raise and support car on axle stand ( you'll need your trolley jack)

undo lower damper bolt and remove..

place trolley jack under the lower swinging arm ( the one with the spring above it)and take the pressure of the spring.

at the hub end of that arm is a cross bolt ( torx).. remove it..

now GENTLY let the jack down, and the spring will come out.. no compressors needed... swap the spring over and raise till you can get the bolt back in..do up nut and bolt, attach damper..How easy was that!!
