im goin to build an ipod into that area and have the ipod screen where the clock thing is.

ive got an alpine headunit and will get the adapter so i can control the ipod with the headunit.

so i wont have loads of CD's all over the car, just all my music collection on a hard drive.

ive seen it, looks awesome, its £260 (cheapest ive found).

still need to connect the ipod to the unit and house the ipod in the space where the clock is. altough i would love that headunit.

the adapter for my unit (to control the ipod) costs £50.

Thing is, when you connect the iPod into an alpine head unit (and pioneer i think) all that comes up on the screen is the Tick with ok to disconnect - and possible the alpine logo depending on the iPod - so I dont know why you would want to put it there and not in some inconspicuous place - i.e the glove box.
