    Default lowering a cdti ...

    .....i am buying some G MAX lowering springs for a cdti. they are a 40mm drop.

    ias this all i need to lower the car?

    i would advise buying a kit.... with dampers. mate had just springs on his cav and the dampers gave up.

    does it already have the sports suspension? is it an sri? if it is i think you'll get away with putting the lowering springs in with 'standard' suspension

    bit too low really..on any dampers the most you can go is -15mm before you hit probs, so -40 on standard dampers, or -25 on SRi ones is too low...

    You'll need to get some shorter stroke ones lad..

    it is the SRi model already so imagined it already has uprated kit? thanx for the info...

    it has dampers that are -15mm already..so, you'll still be using them an inch shorter than they should be..

    You run the risk of the dampers bottoming all the time, causing a lot of internal damage to them..

    I strongly reccomend you don't fit those springs without the correct shortened dampers..What looks like a cheap deal now will cost you dear in the long term as you'll be swapping them very shortly..the life of the sri ones will be measured in a few thousand miles..

    aaahh right...where can u buy the dampers then buddy? are the pricey? and easy to fit?

    mine came today though so its too late for me to cash in !! :-((( i'm also concerned that some of you feel that 40mm on an sri is too low ! had no trouble with my last one at that ride height ! and i'm sure i'll have no bother when i do the same to this one on thursday !! i did use eibachs though !!
