    confused Perplexed - totally.

I returned from my holiday (car left in car park for a week - flat ground) key in and car starts 1st turn, drive from Stansted to Kings Langley - no problems.

I park my car facing the house (easier to remove suitcases) slightly up hill maybe a 10% gradient. I left the car like this for 2 days, didn't need to use it. I then went to start the car and it just would start I rolled it on to the road (flat surface) and cranked it over for a while and it eventually started, left it running for a while (5 mins) and parked it normally facing to the road (downhill)

This is the 2nd time this has happened in the 18 months I've owned it and it only happens after being left for a few days parked facing up hill.

Has anyone else experienced this ?

The car has done 18k and has been recently (last September) serviced, no noticable fule/oil leaks.

My old Vec B never suffered this problem.

sounds like injector seals or leak of pipes which run between the injectors, common problem with this engine!

The main 'common' problem with the non starting DTi is the injector leak off pipes....but this seems more like a drain back problem..fuel running away from the pump...I'd drop it back into your workshops at BT....

still want that oil, now you're back from your travels??

A very similar problem was repaired under warranty (network q) when I had a B 2.0DTI

Shove it back down to VX then, if you've got warranty and ask them to look athe the leak-offs.. but they may have a problem replicating the fault..

    Thumbs down

I had a DTi 2.2 a few years ago and if left facing up hill it would not start, was fixed under warranty, it was the seals, it happened twice during warranty. Six months after warranty ran out fuel pump failed and cost almost £1500 to have replaced and the car sold to a relation has had other problems as well. Don't want to frighten you but it could the begining of bigger problems in the future, good luck.
