Service indicator

Hi All,
When I press the mileage reset button then turn on the ignition I thought I should get the remaining distance to the next service, but on mine I get Insp for a few seconds then just a row of dashes. Does this mean that the service indicator is not working? or is there something else.

To see the remaining distance you only have to push the button with ignition off
(switching it on whilst pushing is to reset it)

Turn the ignition OFF
Now press the milometer reset button

That doesn't work for me, if i hold the reset button after switching off nothing happens, if I hold it down with the ignition on it resets the mileometer then shows 1.4 in the top row and underneath 000105 it has said the same since I got the car in October last year.

That's something like the software version number and month/year of manufacture.

As above - to see how many miles to next service, it should be press the button with ignition off, but I can't vouch for that, its not something i've ever done.

I tested it on mine (MY 2006) today: remove the key before pressing the button for 2 seconds... it will show "Insp" and underneath the remaining km (miles?)
