    Default tuning box (again )

    sorry but im a newbie

seen a lot of posts regarding these and im thinking about one since we couldnt stretch it to the cdti 150

i've a few questions that im hoping someone can answer for me

    1. i have the cdti 120 what realistic increase would i expect to see
    (or feel)

    2. what effect on fuel consumption if any would there be

    3. would the increase put any stress on gearbox/engine etc or are they strong enough to cope

    4. as my car still has over 2 years warranty left would this be affected or is this one of those boxes that leaves no hint of being fitted.

sorry if these have been asked before, but i got to get my post count up

Right m8, lets answer these for you.

    1. fitting a tuning box to a 120 CDTi will take you up to around 160bhp.

    2. Fuel consumption remains relatively unaffected, it depends on how you drive it as with a box it makes you drive a bit more "spirited" It will throw your onboard computer out by about 5mpg though.

    3. The transmission will handle what a box takes it up to.

    4. Remove the box before it goes to the dealers for any work. It is NOT detectable.

If you want a cheap box then you cannot get better than one of THESE

I put a CR2 on my 120 SRi. I did see a dip in consumption to around 40 MPG I was getting 47-50 MPG.

However the car is much more alive!

I've moved over to a remap from 888 which takes me to 170 ish. When I get round to is going in the for sale section...

what increase do you see in bhp if you put one on a 150bhp model? a CR1 box that is.

does it really knock your mpg down by 7!! thats alot!

it nudges it up to around 185BHP.. but as you 'use' the car more, you'd expect to burn more fuel.. you can't have it both ways.
