I was thinking when the time comes to clean it with an engine cleaner that can be rinsed off with water and then reload it with a light coat of thin oil ( GM Fully Synthetic or similar)

To be honest you can wash them in fairy liquid, dry them out and give them a light coat of WD40 if they're foam ones. Not sure what the knock on effect on their life is though.

Hi Guys, Has anyone fitted theirs yet and any results? I did a round trip today of exactly 60miles - zeroed the trip computer as I left home - travelled from Ilkeston in Derbyshire to Uttoxeter in Staffordshire - the trip consisted of travelling through the centre of Derby with one or two hold ups and then a run of about 15 miles down the A50 which is a fast dual carriageway, had air con on and three passengers on board. The return journey was about the same.
Appreciate that it's early days and the computer is not always 100% accurate but these are the results when I got back tonight - well pleased with that so far and definitely an improvement on what I normally get with a standard filter fitted. It's a 2004 bog standard ( apart from the filter lol) 1.9 cdti (120) estate with 102k on the clock.
