Getting FiFi Off My Dash

As I've now got TomTom 510, I don't need the little hexagonal stick on magnet (which Tom Tom call a Fifi!) that's stuck on the top of my dash. In fact, it's a bit of a liability, as some low life might think that I've got something worth stealing.
Anyone have any idea how I can get it off -it's stuck on with a fairly strong sticky pad, and I'm worried I might damage the dash if I lever it, or something.

abit of hair dryer heat might help, also lighter fluid will help soften the glue/sticky pad and will evaporate before damaging anything, doubt it would anyway.

I wouldn't put acetone anywhere near the dash finish. It attacks rubber/plastic and I reckon would make a lovely mess of that rubbery finish.

I think I'll start with the heat gun, then I'll see if a less aggressive solvent might work. I used to use isopropyl alcohol to get lable remnants out of printers in my field service days, so I'll give that a try.

Sticky Stuff remover from Lakeland is what you want, smells vaguely of oranges not found that it attcks plastics just leave it to soak in a bit.
www.lakeland.co.uk I think it is or they have high street shops. Wives usually have heard of these places. All sorts of uses like getting Gaffa tape off cables.

Yep, Isopropyl Alcohol (Isopropanol) is unlikely to attack the plastic as it's not a solvent. I'd do what you just said - heat gun to soften it and let you get the plate off, then Isopropyl Alcohol to remove the residue.
