Default do it your self wheel refurb

just thought i would post some pics of my go at refurbing one of my alloys after doing this to it

so i got started with giving it a rub down then applying some filler because the scrapes were quite deep

then once it had harden i started rubbing it down with wet and dry until it was smooth

how it looked after its first coat of silver

and then how it looked after about 4 coats and then a couple of coats of clear lacquer only thing to do once hardened is give a good rub with rubbing compound but i am happy with the job for an amateur at least it will stop it rusting now

A few years back I used the repair kit from Halfords. It was like a liquid filler which went rock hard & took a hell of a sanding down. Wish I'd never listened to that saying you can always take away but you can't add!!! I was at it for an age smoothing it down.
I to was very impressed with my own repair. Certainly think it's worth ago as it made them look so much better. Think it's one of them things which doesn't actually look as much to it as what it is.
