    Default tyre width

    whats the widest tyre i can have on 8x18 alloys, im looking at getting some new wheels and i need new tyre any way so ive found some toyo proxes t1r 225/40/18 for £360 but idl like to go wider if i can

    225/40 R18
    You might be better looking at 255/35 R18 or 265/35 R18
    These are as close as I can get to match the OE specs

    NO!!!!!
    Maximum width tyre for an 8" rim is 245mm. To fit a 265mm tyre you would need a 9" wide rim.
