    Default Weird Exhaust

Something i've noticed in this cold weather.
The twin exhaust on my 2.2 unlike my friends 2.2 only blows nice white exhaust gasses out of the right hand pipe
Put my hand to it,and it's blowing out warm gas, hence nice white 'clouds'
Funny thing is that the left hand is blowing out,but the gasses are cold
    Hence no white clouds
It just makes the exhaust look really fake in cold weather, but i do find it puzzling why it's doing it,and my mates doesn't.
    Any ideas anyone?

Funny, I was only sittin at the lights earlier tonight seeing the gas at the back thinking how cool it will be looking flowing out of both pipes. To think now it might not have been and looked like a dummy tail pipe. Not gd! I'll have a look next opportunity, shouldn't be too long, tis chilly baltic.

Total shame.... I was picking the 'her who wants for nothing' up from school a few days back, and whilst studying this weird thing a group of school lads walking out of school looked as they passed, with the "Clever" one of the group commenting to his mates"That's because it's a fake one added on"
The total shame of it...indirectly belittled by a 16 year old

The only way to ensure you get gasses out both pipes is to have them split all the way, the 2.2 has a Y piece at the end so the gasses split there and may all go one way ie the fastest way out ..

OK... Matt has the same problem with his car (Twin Exhaust 1.9 CDTi) and commented about this ages ago...

Apparently on his system (Standard Factory Setup with Irmscher 'Y' Piece) the left hand pipe diameter is much larger than the right hand pipe which has a smaller diameter pipe.

This means the pipe pressures each side are not the same, so at low revs, it appears that all the exhaust gasses leave the easiest route.. on the left...

So it looks like nothing is coming from the right hand side (or the other way around.... cant remember)..

On my custom exhaust setup.. the pipes are even size each side... and I have lovely white plumes ommited from each side evenly at tickover.

Sounds crazy, but mine can sometimes swap between one side and the other. But once on the move, you will see the gas's coming out of both as the presure is alot higher.

On tick over it is not. But still comes out of both most of the time.
