    Default Claiming Salvage Rights

Anyone know the correct way to claim salvage of heavy plant machinery that had been left on the public highway without a tax disc on it?

I thought some heavy plant did not need a tax disc, what was the machinery you had in mind to adopt.

It must be owned by someone, so unless it's obviously abandoned ( in which case you have to contact the local police) you can't move, damage or even take possesion of it..

removing it into your possesion could be taken as theft.. so leave it be..

There is some kinda law about that though, saw it on the TV once, a guy claimed a car which hadn`t moved for a certain time, it was a decnt car as well, 3 months or something, and some procedures to follow ..

I've been having real issues with ppl parking across my access road, and one large firm who have turned it into a yard out there, I can't help it but once stirred I become unstable to say the least, came home a few weeks ago under the influence and was going to show how I felt with a hammer on this car parked where it shouldn't, got half way to it and the voice of reason got through luckily for all of us and I backed off, but there comes a point when you see it's obvious you shouldn't park somewhere, yet ppl still do, had a bit of frustration relief a while back, I washed a few cars that were overhanging junctions in coca cola.

*lol* I know how you feel, someone has just moved in across the road and parks her ford ka right on the junction, and half a mile from the kerb, I feel like printing a polite notice out and putting it on her screen ...

(or maybe coca cola and a hammer is a better idea)

I normally use the big firm flyers that come through the door, and write, no parking access required, works with most of them.

I think you mean she parks across the road opening? one way would be to ask the traffic dept to come ticket it one night, she wont leave it there again.
