    Default oil in the water (PLEASE HELP)

    I have a 2.6 v6 vectra cdx I have oil in the water and ive changed the head gaskets but it still seems to be getting through can anyone help???

    try the oil/water intercooler in the middle of the Vee.. quite a common failing point, and often overlooked..

    Did you have the heads skimmed, and checked for cracks?

    the heads didnt need skimed they were fine the car has never been boiled and my mate is a mechanic for a rover/sabb dealer he did the job 4 me,a lot of people have said to check the oil cooler,can anyone tell me is there an easy way to check it or not???

    only by pressure testing one side of it, and seeing if it leaks into the other side of the cooler.. it's a big stripout for you to come..

    If it's in the header, and not in the oil, I think you've nailed it for him, I think it's the same thing I had a while back, only it's not hard to change on mine.

    yep, whereas on the 2.6 it's a bit of a biatch... quite involved, and more so than the DTi..access is so much better..

    vauxveteran, what kind of vec u got? was it a hard job??.The water bottle is oil'ey but it is oil colour,mind u we only did the head gas last week (THAT was major,we started the the job @ 8am and finished @ 10.30pm, NEVER again)
