    Default Help Towbar Electrics

    Hi folks.

I have just had a Witter towbar fitted at dealers to my 05 cdti sri 150. I have tested lights on trailer and all are functioning correctly. Now am I right in thinking there should be a trailer light on dash, which should flash along with indicator < & > arrows, to let you know the trailer lights are working correctly? If so I do not have one. Should I take car back and have a moan?

    Thanks, Dan.

Nope - ours just has a buzzer in the boot that was fitted with the tow electrics. It's annoying but the radio drowns it out

I don't even have a buzzer, it's just as if I have no trailer attached. I suppose if the trailer lights work then why complain, but if something is supposed to be there then why isn't it? Do you think maybe the dealer have not tech 2'd?

you should have a warning buzzer on when you indicate,if i'm right in thinking it's actually a legal recquirment so i'd get it checked

Also just checked fuses in boot and F13 I believe should be a 20amp fuse not 10 which they've fitted.

I also have a towbar on my Signum. Witter electric kit fitted inton the rear fuse box. No buzzers or dash warning lights.
I had the same problem with a Vectr B. Took it up with the main stealer whos responce was to try taking an indicator bulb out of the trailer. The car indicators the go irratic just like when a bulb fails on the car itself. This according to VX is perfectly correct.
So try taking a bulb out of your trailer and see what happens.
