Was up in Cambridge today to get the car 'remapped' by TorquingBHP. This is the same company that has dealt with Mark the Cabbies Signum and also his wife Mandy's Focus, and to say that they are absolutely over the moon with their cars is an understatement.
so with a recommendation coming from Mark i was happy to entrust Darrell with my car. He's a top bloke too, very down to earth and open about what he has done to the car.
I was walking around Cambridge for a few hours whilst Darrell did the work and he picked up in the park and ride once it was done. We went for a test run and the car felt very different. I don;t know about others but it is very difficult for me to judge just how good an improvement is, whether it be remap or performance box....it's only in the everyday situations where you can compare the before and after.
The map will bed down and the car will get quicker over the next week or so. After dropping Darrell back to the garage i headed home and this is when i really felt the difference, 3rd gear was the one to be in, an coming out of roundabouts the car was QUICK!!
I'm very happy with the remap and cannot recommend TorquingBHP highly enough, at 500 notes it's not cheap, but the same that you would spend at VXPC.....who do not offer anything on the V6 diesel yet.
Unfortunately TorquingBHP do not have a rolling road, so i don't know the actual figures, but if anyone would like a comparative test on sunday at either leicester or leeds then i would very much welcome this.
I should add that the car feels just as smooth as it did beforehand in the way the power delivered, the most noticeable difference is the increase in rev range, the car just keep son pulling past 4k revs, when before i would be changing at 3500-4000 revs before anything after that was a waste.
I will get the car rolling roaded soon, might even meet up with Nutron in Watford and go to the place he has taken his car!
