No, it's certainly not meant to carry five adults in comfort on a long journey. The fifth seat is definitely for short journeys, and for smaller people!!

I have very rarely ever carried three in the back of any of my cars. In the year that I've had mine I've had three in the back on one occassion, and that was for a journey of a couple of miles. So for me it's not an issue.

The Signum is designed to carry four in comfort, and boy do the two in the back travel in comfort!! Huge amount of legroom, wide seats and reclining seats!!!
