    Unhappy Bad Luck!

Mind you £181 isnt too bad ?? Not good but I've just got rid of a french thing (peugeot), when the rad went pop on that...£266 + VAT....OUCH!
So far VX stealers dont seem too extortionate....
Stand by hundreds of responses telling me otherwise!!

it does sound dramatic, but all they mean is the removal of the bumper skin and the reinforcing bar.. just go get some good access..

if you're keen then you could even do it on your own driveway at home, as there are no specialist tools required..

I did a rad change back end of last year, its no real drama!

Got the new (pattern) rad from a small place in cambridge, was around £100 if i recall correctly.

took about 4 hours including a drive to get new rad!

you will need some new hose clamps as the VX ones are them daft things you SHOULD use fancy tools on

As previously stated, drop front bumper off

place front of car on axle stands

detach air con rad from main rad and secure out of way

    undo fan power connector

    remove radiator hoses (X3)

    remove bottom rad mounts

drop old leaky rad out <silly idea to have it come out from the bottom.>

    swap fan onto new rad.

reassembly is the reverse of removal.....

    bleed system....
