confused Info required re: chipping/tuning 2.2dti

Hi all, does anyone know what the score is with having a 53 plate 2.2dti chipped/tuned? I know that Tune-it offer a module however superchips say that they dont as that particular engine management system, is complicated. I checked the Celtic website and they dont do one for any cars newer than a 52 plate because of a hybrid ECU??? Help!

you could get a VP44 tuning box for it, that hard wires into the fuel pumps loom.. that'll give you a marginal increase, stick in some airbox and filter mods, then a free 'er flowing exhaust and you should notice a difference..

A VP44 will take you from 125bhp to approx 152bhp. As Mark says, with a pefrormance exhaust, panel filter and the airbox mod you will be up to around 160bhp

    hi m8,
i was thinking of getting mine done...i phoned `angel tuning` in warwick.they said that a 2.2 dti could not be done....& it wasn`t down to the hybrid ecu!..i also phoned `chipped uk`in worcestershire.they said it could be done, only if ,& this is where i got confused! he said something about the water pump...if your pump has a loom going to it,then it cant be done..if it hasn`t,then it can be done.
    hope this helps?
    thanks
    nev

with a motor that has a hybrid ecu a tuning box can be fitted ok, the tuning box should have 4 wires, one to the battery possitive, one to earth, one goes to a wire on the pump, which by the way is really really hard to get at , and the other wire goes to a throttle pedal sensor wire thats it, i fitted one to my 2.0dti about a month ago, she's a hybrid ecu and it works ok
