Default Philips Blue Vision or Osram SilverStar? Which would you go for?

Well following on from this I contacted Red Griffin Styling and they have been absolutely SUPERB. Without any hassle they have accepted that the bulb is clearly faulty and have offered to replace my bulbs with either a new set of Philips Blue Vision or another bulb of my choice.

I explained that my original intention was to get a blue look with a further reach and was a little disappointed with the Blue Visions in that they don't look very blue and the headlight design of the Vec seems to prevent you from extending the beam significantly. I asked them to recommend a bulb and this is what they said:

The 'blue' bulbs we sell only give off a small hint of 'blue', as too much affects the length and breadth of the beam, too much 'blue' can also cause glare to oncoming vehicles. The Philips that you have give the best of both worlds. For performance - i.e. best bulb pattern I'd have to opt for Osram's SilverStar, I've got them in my Astra-G, and I find that Osram bulbs tend to last that little bit longer than Philips.
So now I have a dilema ... do I stick with the Blue Visions or go with the SilverStars? I know there have been many posts with good views on both but I just wondered if you had to choose ... which one would you go for?

Put the blue vision in my Seat Leon and am very pleased with them - just the right colour. The dipped lights in my facelift Vec are very bright and white anyway so can't see the benefit in replacing them.

The sidelights however are a different story and am looking for a brighter and whiter bulb - possibly LED .....?
