    Default Water ingress

    Hi all,
A colleague at work has a vectra c 52 plate hatchback I think and has water ingress problems in the passenger side footwells front and rear. He thinks the door seals are ok but cant seem to find the leak.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    Regards

    Ian

Pop the hud, then open the scuttle panel, this is where the pollen filter is that carl bear mentioned. I had this problem but it came from a unseated grommet to the right of the pollen filter, pushed it home and all was well. You might think that not that much water can come in through 2 such little places but trust me, my floor was flooded and all from a little grommet.

Hmmm I haven't dont that..... is that the drain grommet or another one? I was thinking of drilling small holes in the plastic rear vent ducts that run under the carpet in the front footwells to allow air under there to dry it out

No mate, think its something to do with the fly by wire, when I had mine replaced this grommet wasn't seated.

Once id sorted the leak and gave the carpet a good toweling the carpet dried pretty soon.

If you have tried all the above then have a look in the boot area. I did have a leak from the boot and i sealed up the rear lights and replaced the boot rubber seal and it still leaked so i stripped out the car and found the rear quarter light window was leaking. The water dripped on top of the car alarm then ran towards the front of the car soaking the carpets.

    Nice and dry now

How did you sort that Pimm? I have water in my boot well, stripped it done all the above and still there. I have moisture on alarm so It looks like it might be the same as yours.
