    Spanner light is on and tried the pedal test it flashed out 10-5-9-7 its a z18xer can someone help with what code this is thanks

    googled it heres what it came up with, Thermostat Heater Control Circuit/Open

    What does this mean?

    OBD Code P0597refers to

    Causes

    Possible causes of OBD code P0597
    - Open or short thermostat heather control circuit - Poor thermostat heather control circuit connection - Failed Engine Cooling Thermostat The Error code is generally activated on detection of the following conditions: The P0597 is triggered when there is an open or short thermostat heather control circuit.

    New thermostat needed, best to get housing, will come with thermostat fitted.

    The thermostat and housing are a single unit. The ZX18ER has an electronic thermostat, where there is an electric solenoid to open and close the gate. It sounds like the solenoid has stopped working or has a fault.

    But it looks like they are out of stock? It only took about 30 minutes to change. make sure you buy some anti-freeze concentrate to top up your system.

    Do not over tighten the bolts as they go into a plastic casting. I did a How 2, it will be on here somewhere??

    I have just put a new thermostat on the car and housing only 3 weeks ago was fine until yesterday

    Make sure that it is corectly plugged in, otherwise it could well be a faulty unit?

    Put the old thermostat on and no spanner light must be a faulty unit,could i return this to ECP and get my money back ?
