Default wrong headlight. can I be saved

    Hi

I have a a Vectra Breeze. lovely car. However when I purchased it it had different headlights one clear and one smoked. I have just won from ebay a SRI headlight thinking that as it was smoked it would fit. However they have a different bulb connector and the main loom connector has more pins on the SRI version. So I'm guessing the SRI version is Xenon and my original headlamp is halogen.
Looks like my options are, 1) go and buy a smoked Halogen headlamp. or 2) swap over the facias so the smoked front is on the Halogen headlamp.
So the question is has anyone managed to remove the front of the headlight? it looks like a combo of clips and bonding. perhaps a pop in the oven? 0r a paint stripper blast?

    has anyone tried it?

    thanks in advance

Stick it in the oven, this has work for me before when taking apart headlights, not to hot though! I wouldn't use paint stripper as its likely to ruin the plastic etc.

Ahh a heat gun will work too but it will take ages to get it up to temp. 120C for about 15 minutes irrc, just keep an eye on it lol you don't want it melting! Still had to carefully prise and cut it apart at the seem but being hot made it much easier than it would of been.

If you Got 2, just put on the Xenon.... Basic its only 1 wire and bit of programming (it Can work without the levelsensors, bit more if you want to be abel to ajust Them from the inside)
