    Default Moving from a 50 profile to a 45

Has anyone move from 50 down to a 45? Did the wheels look lost under the arches? Has the ride quality gone? Whats your opinion?

225/45/17 is a popular (and officially recognised by Vauxhall in the manual) alternative to the standard 215/50/17's. It will knock your speedo out very fractionally, but it's minor. I always run the 225/45's when I've got 17" wheels on.

Depends on the width. 45% of 225 is virtually identiacal to 50% of 205

Is there a noticeable decrease in ride quality?

I noticed a massive difference going from 225/40/18 to 235/35/19. but i also have eibach springs so a bit firmer.

I'm used to mine on a 40mm drop on 19's with a 35 profile so not really something I can comment on

I did not notice any difference when I changed mine to 45 profile.
