2 Fault codes with EML and power steering light

Hi guys,

I have an 06 Vectra cdti 150 estate.

The code information I have is as follows:
C1532 steering wheel angle sensor -Voltage too high
P1811 engine torque signal -Malfunction

I have had a quick search and the steering fault has mixed suggestions as to how to rectify. I believe my alternator is a relatively new one. Am I looking at a new steering rack?

The second code I have also searched (google as well) and I haven't found much info.

can anyone help shed light on either?

Hi Baldwin,

Is your ESP light on? this could point to a problem with the CIM unit (behind the steering wheel) it also has the steering angle sensor built in to it. If the steering angle sensor is faulty it can cause different errors with the ESP, from what iv seen P1811 can be linked to ESP / ABS faults.

Might be worth getting the CIM checked out, iv also seen a couple of posts about bad batteries causing the P1811 error and a new battery clearing the fault?
