    Default Budget tyre experiences

Have you had any bad experiences with budget tyres? I personally haven't but just trying to get the general public's view.

Well, Infinity inf-05s seem to be made out of 100% teflon.

Some budgets are good, some are dangerous. You have variations of budget tyre, some are sub £50 (usually dangerous), some are in the £50-70 segment (ok unless you spend your life at the limit) then the £90-70 type, where they're as good as premium tyres, just made by lesser known brands like Kumho, Maxis etc, then your £90+ premiums - Yoko, Toyo, Pirelli, Michelin etc...

You need to define 'budget' a bit really, do you mean "anything other than premium brands" or do you mean "below a certain price point"?

Also depends on the size you go for - Pirelli P-Zero Nero GT in 215/50/17 are £130+ a corner, whereas the same one in 225/45/17 is £90+...

In my opinion tyres are the next most important thing after the engine. Cheap ones work if you drive like a nun but if you bought a 150 SRi then you most probably don't !

bought budgets for the last 17 years, high performance cars to normal standard cars, never had a single issue with any of them, grips the same, brakes the same, wears the same as any 'brand' name ones a car i have has come with. on a race track you may notice the difference, but day to day car use, no i dont see any difference whatsoever

if you are a 'boy racer' and drive like a tool on the public roads, then the last thing you should be blaming is the name of the tyres
