    Default Speaker Quality

How decent are the standard speakers? I was expecting mine to be quite rubbish as I have the cd30 headunit, but the sound is amazing! Especially the bass, very deep and clean even when I crank it up with the bass setting on high there is little or no distortion! I know what a good sound is as ive had an rx8 with the BOSE setup which had a separate sub. The base my door speakers are producing is in the same league....so im thinking a previous owner has upgraded them. But, is the cd30 capable of a decent power output? Is it possible there is an aftermarket amp somewhere? Very pleased anyway!

The standard fit speakers are actually surprisingly good, people are quick to blame them, but it's the factory head units that are the weak point in the systems on Vecs/Signums. Change the head unit for something decent and you'll notice a massive improvement.

That said however, upgrading the speakers to decent components, takes that a lot further still.

I too was shocked, they are pretty good, when i put the after market stereo it was even better. Been thinking about changing them, but they will do the job.

In my experience they sound awesome, especially when the equaliser is set correctly (with my CD40). However, I just had the passenger side front speaker replaced at the dealers (£20 for the part, about £40 for 10 mins labour :-/) and the drivers side one is now starting to sound shot too - I don't think the speakers are terribly long lasting if you pound them with some descent, loud bass (in my case some Opeth, Staind and Stone Sour).

There have been several threads on here about Pioneer straight replacement speakers, maybe I should have went for those instead. Oh well.

Agreed, this was due to the speakers on the Vectra B coming in for a lot of criticism
However I have mine set with max Bass and mid Treble, for some music I have to take care with the volume or the system cuts out
When you put them both to default the system is more than enough for me

I'm running the standard speakers on a Sony MEX BT-3800 and the sound is superb!

Going to fit tweeters in the rear door pods at some point but i was surprised at how good the standard ones are!

I've never had the system cut out on me yet. I now see that as a challenge!

Agree, switched to the Pioneer straight swap option and they are another level.
