Default Exhaust Heat Shield hanging off, sheared fixings

Ok, so had some steady rattling from underneath so poked my head under. The heatshield is hanging off in several places where is appears the holes on the shield are bigger than the head of the nuts supposeingly supporting it.

I try to undo one of the nuts but it's corroded so bad the stud just shears off. I try another, same story.

How am I going to secure my heatshield?

Ok, so who's idea was it to just rip it off

Jacked up the drivers side, pulled the shield off the remaining fixings and .... would not come off. Couldn't be slid around the exhaust of pulled up or down because of the 'strap' that covers the exhaust about half way down the car. It had 4 fixings in it and they too were heavily corroded so didn't fancy trying too hard to undo them.
I Have ended up crudely strapping it back on with cable ties

I'll see how it is tomorrow on the run to work but I expect i'll have to get it on a ramp and either get it secured better (somehow) or cut it off.

Tin snips will make short work of it.

I re drilled and tapped new holes on the couple that sheared on mine, then used larger penny washers to hold the heat shield in place. Job done!
