    Default Cant Decide

    Vectra C either:

    2.0 DTI, 2.2 DTI or 1.9 CDTI

    up untill a few days ago I was set on a 1.9CDTI, but after going through the threads on ownership problems the 1.9CDTI and 2.2DTI are mentioned in numerous threads there. Interesting that the 2.0DTI isn't mentioned as often.

    So basically looking to purchase in about a month but stuck, any suggestions................

    cheers

    Depends what you want out of it m8, 2.0DTi and 2.2DTi have been around for a while and seem to be a little bit more reliable than the CDTi. I've had 2 1.9CDTi's and have both been faultless engines. Fuel pump went on my old one but that is all. The 1.9CDTi is more tuneable if you want to get 200bhp out of one.

    My present Signum has 24k on it and drives like new.

    Is money/price an issue - otherwise I would recommend the 1.9.

    Will probably be able to afford an 04 plate 1.9CDTI, but won't have much left for repairs if you see what I mean !!

    Guess it's just a case of weighing up my options over the month, with the obvious help of you guys

    cheers..........

    3.0 V6 CDTi+CRD2 tuning box.

    @38-40mpg and 220bhp/450Nm torque.

    It's the obvious choice.

    Oh and did I forget to mention the sound the V6 makes?.

    1.9 cdti is the one to go for, you won`t have any repair bills as it will still have warranty. Most of the problems are with people who have tuning boxes . Leave it standard and you wont have any probs I am sure ...

    ma first vec c was the 2.0dti a never had any problems with it apart from there was no power but now am on my 2nd 1.9cdti 150 and lovin it. ma first one had flywheel trouble at 6months old got rid off it due to goin swimming with it. but the one ave got now is spot on its a 06plate and no trouble yit (touch wood).its really down to power how much do you want because when a had the dti i had all sorts of corsas showing me up and with a big car u dont want that

    end of the day all cars can **** up and a think more ppl have the 1.9cdti's than the 2.0dtis thats why they arnt mentioned as much
