DMF and clutch replaced but ...

My Vectra 1.9 cdti has had the flywheel and clutch done by a local garage.
the problem I have is the brakes are poor, coincidence or related

Guess it could be as I believe hydraulic clutches use the same fluid as the brakes. perhaps the whole system needs a bleed. That's the extent of my knowledge on this lol. Sure someone will be along soon.......

I also have problems getting in 1st gear.

I've always had problems with first when engine is cold, usually have to select third then will go into first ok. Might work for now

I'm going to give them a ring tomorrow see what they say because i've only had these problems since getting the clutch & dmf done.

Ask them how much oil they've put into gearbox , assuming is an F40 should be 2.4 litres

They might have damaged a vaccuum line for the brake servo?

Or not bled properly as said above.


Mine also doesn't like 1st though so that's normal I think.

Yes. Tell them to bleed the sistem and to set up the gear linkage properly.
