    Default bad news to day

    well thats my vectra c 2.2dti off to car heaven fuel pump edc packed up and cant be fixed its the twin plug type so shopping for a new car now time for a change me thinks

    boo thats the only thing with the 2.2's which kill them outright for the normal person...

    not easily. if its decoded and working fine its about £400 or so. and about that again to remove old and fit the replacement... So a bill of roughly £800

    They _CAN_ be fixed. But first it needs to be diagnosed more precisely to determine whether the solenoid or transistor in the control unit has failed, or the mechanical parts are goosed.

    I've fixed an Astra van on which the solenoid failed and blew transistor in control unit, and a Vectra-C on which an internal seal in the pump failed.

    If solenoid/transistor, repair can be effected with pump still in car. If mechanical parts, then control unit can be removed and fitted to a replacement used mechanical pump body thus obviating the need for reprogramming etc. I've effected both types of repair and have a source of spare parts.
