hi all got the egr blanked on my cdti Sri 150 and was woundering if it could still cause problems by sending duff info to the ecu eg not closing or stuck open ect or doesn't it make any difference if it blanked thanks all

If its not mapped out or the electrical bit is sticking yes it will cause reading issues to the ecu
So crudded up egr could still cause problems like no power under 2 k and a judder at around 1.7k even if it blanked then
There's no position sensor on the EGR valve. There's only two wires going to it (power and ground). The ECU can't tell if the valve is sticking but it can assume EGR low flow (P0401) or EGR excessive flow (usually comes up as an intake leak code cant remember number off the top of my head) based on the MAP and MAF readings. It can also determine a third state, that is if it's unplugged P0400 (open circuit) or shorted (low resistance circuit).
In theory if the valve was stuck wide open (due to carbon build up etc) and you blanked the EGR without cleaning it/unsticking it, providing the blanking seal is good, performance should be restored. The ECU should not be able to determine the actually state of the valve/solenoid as there is no sensor on it (unlike the throttle body for example). All it will know is that the EGR flow is low or insufficient (based on the MAP and MAF readings) and it will throw MIL with P0401.
I have the EGR blank (soon to be remapped and removed) and I too have judder and lack of boost between 1.5K and 2K but only in higher gears (4th, 5th 6th). It could well be EGR blanking without a remap that is the issue but I cant think why that would be - unless it was diesel knock i.e. too much O2.
Now I got it the other way round 1st and 2nd really sluggish till 2k but in the rest of the gears it pulls well but the judder will happen around 1.7k in any gear if pulling hard say up a good hill i have done pretty much all the common problem fixes on here but still no joy really getting a bit lost on what to do next now
