Gonna clean the GSI for the first time in 8 months (the snowflakes are now colour coded to the rest of the car, pictures to follow). Going to Halfords at Lakeside tomorrow AM what stuff would you recomend (shampoo, polish, wax etc)

If no response then being a lazy xxxxxxx it's down to the car wash, not for the first time.

    thanks for any advice.

if you're off to halfrauds, get the meguairs 1,2,3 stage stuff. seems to be fairly good value for money in terms of quality. if it's anything like my 2 local stores though, the megs stuff won't be anywhere near all the rest of the car cleaning and polishing stuff......

i'm sure i'll be corrected by someone who knows more than me, but you'll need...

    lambswool wash mitt
    shampoo
bucket (or preferably 2, one for clean water, one for dirty)
    chamois or microfibre equivalent
about a dozen microfibre cloths for polishing etc
    polish
    sealant
    wax
and any extras like glass cleaner, bumper care etc.

HTH (and prepares to be shot down in flames )

I use zymol autowash and nothing else. All natural contents and a real shine for a simple wash.
£4.99 a tub and lasts for ages.

Best stuff you can get off the shelf is going to be the meguires range, look for the 3 steps, they have the numbers on the bottle, first wash and dry the car, then use the paint cleaner, polish and finally the wax, it will come up stunning, use the same on the wheels ...

Autoglym is not bad as well ...

yep if your not an ardent detailer,i recommend the autoglym.you just wash half the car then rinse,i usually use the rain water from the butt( not chemical additives in there like tap water has)then repeat for other half.

might be worth having a go with the meguiars quick caly if the car hasnt been washed for 8 months, that should be done after the wash and its realy simple and east to use. just spray on the lubricant (megs quick detailer spray) then wipe the clay over a few times. you get the clay bar and the spray in the box and its about £12 from halfords...

    just a suggestion
